Uganda Team Trip

This was the 4th time I went to Africa with a team. This year the team included Peter Le Duc, Levi and Eva Crizon, and Elizabeth Swingle. We were able to see the new boreholes being used, visit the new medical clinic, attend a village celebration, and so much more.

We all came home with a heart filled with many memories that we will not forget. None of this could have been possible with out the many donors that have given to BTG4WATER.

Serere District Medical Clinic

Sky and Rita

Rita and I became bonded when visiting a school in Uganda in September of 2024. I asked the headmaster about Rita and he shared that she was a bright student, but she had an issue with seizures and often times her parents couldn’t attain the medicine she needed. I began thinking about the many children and adults that were living with clean water, but still had medical issues because of lack of specific drugs to heal wounds, malaria, pneumonia, etc. God inspired me to build a small medical clinic in the Serere District where we do a lot of work.

We started the fundraising effort in November of 2024. With the generous offer of a $12,500 match from an individual, we had a great start. By January of 2025, with the help of amazing donors, the goal of $25,000 to build the clinic had been met.

Local non-profit Project Save donated all the supplies for the clinic and we were so thankful. The next challenge was the cost of shipping the supplies: $8,775. God provided again through several donations!

In the end, there were enough funs to buy medications and pay the two hired nurses until the clinic is able to support itself.

I was able to see the new clinic myself, along with my team, while we were in Uganda in September. What a rich blessing it will be for the people in the Serere district!

The new medical clinic in the Serere District made possible by giving hearts in America.
